"Memory" —dedicated to those lost, hurt and grieving in Orlando.
It is a bit dark and brooding with beautiful teal/turquoise blues
but it needed more depth and more color to give it a lift. Give it more
hope.
So, Saturday morning I worked in some pinks which created subtle yellows and oranges. As I worked on this painting which I had called "Memory," I started thinking of the victims in last week's tragic shooting. And I realized that this painting should be dedicated to them. It speaks of remembering and passing our memories on.
It has the feeling of grief but on Saturday morning as I worked in the warm colors of pink and watched as oranges and yellows began to shine through I saw how hope and love can emerge out of grief and memory.
